Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derek Monke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Hayakawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Derek Monke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Hayakawa! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hayakawa. Hayakawa fails to land the takedown. Hayakawa fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Derek Monke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryu Hayakawa. Monke pushes Hayakawa up against the cage in a clinch. Monke is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hayakawa can't fight it off and eventually Monke manages to take the fight to the floor. Hayakawa looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Monke stopping the sweep attempt from Hayakawa. Hayakawa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hayakawa looks gassed! Hayakawa had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Monke is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hayakawa Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Monke's back instead. Hayakawa is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
You can see the frustration on Monke's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monke defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hayakawa is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Monke defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Hayakawa is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Monke knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Monke for a finish. Hayakawa has the hooks in. Monke is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Monke is working hard here to advance position. Monke is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hayakawa gets his way!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hayakawa avoiding Monke 's attempts to control his hands. Hayakawa keeps control of the position as Monke tries to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hayakawa is working for a rear naked choke. Monke is not defending it well and Hayakawa has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Monke refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Monke's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
