Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, The Hulk!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hulk bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Griffin stops Hulk from passing to mount.
Griffin tries to buck Hulk off but Hulk is having none of it.
Griffin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hulk has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Griffin is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin is working hard here to advance position.
Hulk controlling his opponent.
Griffin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Griffin is squirming around, avoiding Hulk's attempts to control the action.
Griffin is trying to escape the mount.

Hulk jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Griffin manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hulk tries to advance to mount but Griffin denies him.
Griffin is looking to regain half guard here but Hulk keeps moving and retains side control.
Griffin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hulk's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Griffin gets full guard.

Griffin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hulk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Griffin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hulk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hulk connects with a couple of short punches.
Hulk looking to pass the guard.

Griffin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Griffin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hulk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Griffin is tightening it up a little... Hulk has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hulk reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hulk taps out! Nice BJJ there by Griffin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Chris Griffin!
Chris Griffin spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
