Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Hobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Greve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hobbs might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hell's Bells - ACDC. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Hobbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Greve! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Hobbs or perhaps it was just good defense by Greve which made him look bad. Greve throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hobbs looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Greve lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hobbs will feel that in the morning. Greve throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hobbs sees it coming and avoids it easily. Greve throws a sloppy head kick and Hobbs moves out of range easily. Hobbs gets the takedown into side control. Hobbs postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Greve takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Greve can't do much from the bottom here. Greve gets back to half guard. Greve is looking to get back to full guard here but Hobbs has managed to pass to side control instead. Greve is looking to get to half guard. Greve is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hobbs breaks from Greve's wrist control and lands an elbow. Greve is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hobbs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hobbs tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hobbs prevents Greve from getting the reversal. Hobbs lands a nice shot to the head. Hobbs tries to control but Greve wriggling away. Greve wants to hold on but Hobbs pushes him away. Hobbs landing punches. Greve is desperately trying to improve his position but Hobbs has a good base and remains in mount. Hobbs controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Hobbs. Hobbs in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Greve avoids a strike by Hobbs and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Hobbs's guard! Fantastic escape!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Greve is pushing down on Hobbs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hobbs controls Greve momentarily but Greve frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hobbs misses with a hook. Greve throws a shot from downtown. Hobbs moves away and avoids it. Ray Hobbs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hobbs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Greve wants to sweep here but Hobbs controlling him for the moment. Greve trying to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Hobbs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Greve to the mat! Greve manages to get full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hobbs trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hobbs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Greve is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hobbs working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Greve's head. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Greve is on top in guard.
Hobbs controls Greve momentarily but Greve frees himself. Hobbs doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Hobbs is pulling down on Greve's head to control his posture. Greve postures up and lands a big shot to Hobbs's brow. Hobbs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Greve is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hobbs trying to control from half guard but Greve is working away. Greve slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Hobbs keeping moving, preventing Greve from controlling successfully. Greve works over Hobbs with some ground and pound from guard. Hobbs controls Greve momentarily but Greve frees himself. Hobbs tries to land a sweep but no joy. Greve trying to control the position from guard on top but Hobbs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hobbs on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hobbs tries to get out of the position. Greve is pushing down on Hobbs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hobbs is fighting to maintain full guard but Greve has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Greve passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hobbs! Hobbs is squirming around, avoiding Greve's attempts to control the action. Ray Hobbs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hobbs holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Greve tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ray Hobbs will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Greve is looking for a kimura but Hobbs is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Greve to get the leverage. Greve is nestled in close to Hobbs, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Greve is trying to control the action in half guard but Hobbs is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Despite being in the dominant position, Paul Greve just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Greve tries to clinch but Hobbs is having none of it. Greve throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hobbs drives through with a takedown into guard. Greve is trying to control the position from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight! Ray Hobbs showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hobbs, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
