The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machin tries for a takedown but NoMates sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Machin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
NoMates wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Machin has him pressed against the cage.

Machin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but NoMates manages to avoid it.
Machin shoots in and drives through. NoMates sprawls well.
Machin swats away the attempt to clinch by NoMates.

and NoMates counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by NoMates.
Billy NoMates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Machin.
NoMates is trying to push Machin away but Machin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
NoMates lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
NoMates turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and NoMates manages to end up in side control.

Machin manages to work his way to half guard, despite NoMates's best efforts.

Machin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Machin wants to control from the top but NoMates keeps moving.
