Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Connors!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, John Deere!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connors is looking to clinch.
Deere shoots in looking for a takedown but Connors manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Deere's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Connors works over Deere's head and body with a nice combination.
Connors keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Connors swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A left and a right from Connors both land. Nice combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Connors fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Deere manages to avoid it.
Connors rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Deere moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Connors scores with a shot to the body.

Deere drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Connors is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Connors takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Connors is not content to let Deere control the position.
Connors knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Deere on the ground.
Connors is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Deere throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Deere has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Deere thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Connors is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Deere has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee asks Deere politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Deere prefers to stall for the moment though.
You can see the frustration on Connors's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Connors throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

Deere is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Connors knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Deere working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Deere scoring with punches from side control.

Connors wants to get back to his feet but Deere is dominant here and he's now got Connors's back!
Connors is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Deere connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Connors to escape the position.
Connors tries to escape but Deere has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Deere is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
You can see the frustration on Connors's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Connors is working hard here to advance position.
Deere trying to control momentarily.

Deere sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Connors taps out!
