Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roman Burza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roman Burza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anthony Pettis! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pettis has his takedown stuffed and Burza counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pettis dives in and grabs Burza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Burza pushes down on Pettis's head and hops out. Pettis fails with the takedown and Burza counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Roman Burza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Pettis. Burza looks to score with a jab to the body but Pettis is just out of range. Pettis misses with a hook. Burza staying out of range there. Burza swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pettis misses with a takedown attempt and Burza counters with an inside leg kick. Pettis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Burza counters with a left and a right that stings Pettis.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circling - Pettis throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Burza lands with a nice body punch. Burza connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pettis's hands. Pettis closes the distance and lands a one-two. Pettis wants to clinch up but Burza keeps it at a distance. Pettis has his takedown stuffed and Burza counters with a nice uppercut. Burza buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Burza is looking to slow Pettis down with leg kicks. Burza uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pettis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burza scores with a one two! Pettis had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Anthony Pettis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pettis tries to clinch but Burza moves away and Burza counters with a good low kick that Pettis was not able to check. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pettis shoots in looking for a takedown but Burza manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pettis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Pettis closes the distance but Burza moves to the side and Burza counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pettis fails with the takedown enabling Burza to counter with a crisp jab. Pettis tries to clinch up. Burza lands with an overhand left. Pettis fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burza just misses with a punch to the body.
Pettis closes the distance but Burza moves to the side and Burza counters with a right hand to the body. Pettis looking to score a takedown here. Burza is defending well but Pettis drives through and ends up in Burza's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Burza holds on and takes a little breather. Burza wants to sweep here but Pettis controlling him for the moment. Pettis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Burza has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pettis has managed to get both his arms back between Burza's legs - danger averted. Pettis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pettis wants to stand but Burza is controlling his posture from full guard. Burza wants to sweep here but Pettis controlling him for the moment. Burza pulls Pettis in close to prevent any damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Roman Burza wasn't doing enough on the ground. Burza takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.
Roman Burza dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Burza is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pettis. Pettis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Burza counters with a left to the body. Burza thumps Pettis with a low kick. Burza tries to bum rush Pettis with a series of wild strikes but Pettis uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pettis. Pettis misses with a few strikes there.

Pettis tries to clinch but Burza moves away and Burza connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Burza comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Pettis rushes Burza and presses him up against the cage. Burza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pettis is looking to clinch. Burza lands a right hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burza uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pettis.

Pettis fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Pettis misses with a combination
and Burza counters with a two punch combo. Pettis fails with the takedown and Burza counters with a leg kick. Pettis is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pettis has his takedown stuffed and Burza counters with a nice leg kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Burza.
Roman Burza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Burza avoids it really well and circles away. Burza scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Burza looks to land a combination. Pettis sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Jab, jab by Burza - just one landing. Burza connects with the punch. Pettis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Burza manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Pettis shoots and misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Pettis tries to clinch but Burza is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Burza takes one to the chin there. A looping hook to the body misses from Pettis. Burza does a little dance to reset his feet. Burza connects with a body shot. Pettis throws a left and a right that both miss
and Burza counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burza moves away from the strike by Pettis. Pettis misses with a straight left. And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.

A big left from Pettis misses.

Pettis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Burza can pounce on him.
Burza fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Pettis has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Burza. Pettis's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Pettis looks to clinch and Burza cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Pettis tries for a takedown but Burza circles away easily and Burza counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pettis on the wrong end of a nice hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Burza cracks Pettis with an open hand slap. Pettis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Pettis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Burza counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A cross from Burza lands. Pettis has his takedown stuffed and Burza counters with a stiff right hand. A punch lands to the side of Pettis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burza comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Pettis walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Pettis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burza was well out of range. Poor timing from Pettis. Pettis wants to clinch but Burza slips to the side and Burza counters with a slapping leg kick. Pettis wants to clinch and Burza counters with a nice uppercut. Nice body punch from Burza. Burza moves into range and connects with a jab. Burza leaves Pettis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Pettis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Burza counters with a series of strikes. Pettis will be more careful next time no doubt. Roman Burza is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Pettis throws a lazy right hand but Burza sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Anthony Pettis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pettis misses with a straight right.
And that's the end of the fight! Roman Burza showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Burza, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
