Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vade Steamboat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steamboat kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Enter Sandman. Anderson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Skeamz - Allow me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Luke Anderson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vade Steamboat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Anderson! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch but Steamboat swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Steamboat lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Luke Anderson has been cut. Anderson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steamboat moves away. Steamboat shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anderson but Anderson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Steamboat gets the takedown into side control. Steamboat is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Anderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Steamboat wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anderson, who protects the arm well. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Anderson tries to improve position but can't. Steamboat misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Anderson tries to bench press Steamboat off him but Steamboat keeps the position. Anderson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steamboat is looking for a kimura but Anderson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Steamboat to get the leverage. Steamboat wants to pass the guard but Anderson is defending well. Steamboat is working hard here to advance position. Anderson is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Anderson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steamboat slips nicely into half guard. Steamboat prevents Anderson from improving his position. Anderson looking for submissions off his back. Anderson looks gassed! Steamboat decides to stand up. Anderson has closed the distance and engaged Steamboat in a clinch.

Anderson stuffs the takedown attempt from Steamboat. Steamboat gets slowly back to his feet. A head kick misses from Anderson.

Anderson pushes Steamboat off looking to stand but Steamboat dives back in and keeps control.
Anderson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Steamboat's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Steamboat's back! Anderson scores with strikes from the back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Steamboat defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Anderson connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Steamboat to escape the position.
Anderson is landing with strikes from the back. Anderson is trying to stick to Steamboat's back but Steamboat is turning into Anderson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Anderson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Steamboat. Anderson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Steamboat is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Anderson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Steamboat's back instead. Steamboat is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Anderson gets his way!

Steamboat wants to get up but he can't break Anderson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Steamboat trying to control but Anderson is working from the bottom. Steamboat landing some decent shots from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steamboat tries to free his leg and advance position but Anderson is retaining full guard. Steamboat wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving. Steamboat landing with the ground and pound. Anderson keeping full guard, as Steamboat tries to pass. Steamboat slips nicely into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Anderson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Steamboat slips nicely into half guard. Steamboat seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anderson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Steamboat is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Steamboat landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Anderson tries to get to full guard but Steamboat has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steamboat gets a takedown into half guard. Anderson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Steamboat pulls his head out easily. Anderson is looking for a sweep. Steamboat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Steamboat is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Anderson! Anderson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Steamboat. Anderson is in all sorts of trouble here.

Steamboat might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Steamboat lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Anderson! Steamboat working for a guillotine from mount but Anderson is in no mood to give up. Steamboat is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Anderson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Vade Steamboat overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Steamboat is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Steamboat throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Steamboat off to one side. Steamboat shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vade Steamboat. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Steamboat counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Steamboat lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Steamboat stands up from guard. Let's bang! Steamboat slips a jab and a cross from Anderson.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Steamboat would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Anderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Anderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Anderson tries to free his leg and advance position but Steamboat is retaining full guard. Anderson drops back looking for a leg! Steamboat is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Steamboat manages to kick Anderson off! Anderson jumps back into Steamboat's guard. Steamboat looking for submissions from the bottom here. Anderson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Steamboat avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Anderson seems to have locked his on tight now - Steamboat screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Anderson, as he picks up the win!
