PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wagner Flabianno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey The Dude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flabianno comes to the cage accompanied by The Pet Shop Boys - Absolutely Fabulous . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wagner Flabianno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeffrey The Dude!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Dude closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Flabianno did well to prevent The Dude getting side control.
Flabianno keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The Dude is looking to stall here but Flabianno recovers full guard.
The Dude tries to free his leg and advance position but Flabianno is retaining full guard.
Flabianno keeping moving, preventing The Dude from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flabianno wants to stand and escape but The Dude is having none of it.
The Dude has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The Dude sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Flabianno's guard.
The Dude missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

The Dude is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Flabianno is just riding it out for now. The Dude eventually gives up the hold.
The Dude is looking to take a break and control but Flabianno is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The Dude is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with The Dude in particular looking to stall.
Flabianno is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of The Dude's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take The Dude's back!
The Dude trying to control the action but Flabianno just sinks the hooks in.
The Dude tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The Dude sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The Dude wants to control but Flabianno is keeping busy.

Flabianno wants to pass to mount but The Dude is defending the position.

Flabianno seems to be working for a kimura but The Dude defends the submission attempt.
Flabianno seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but The Dude does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The Dude is pressing down on Flabianno's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The Dude is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The Dude looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Flabianno with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The Dude lands strikes from half guard.
The Dude passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Flabianno!

The Dude is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Flabianno can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The Dude lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The Dude scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The Dude breaks from Flabianno's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, The Dude cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Flabianno is breathing heavily.

The Dude lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The Dude takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Flabianno is rocked!
The Dude trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Oh Flabianno is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The Dude lands a heavy elbow.

The Dude pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Oooooh, big shot lands for The Dude! Flabianno is hurt baaadly! The Dude is firing away with more strikes - Flabianno is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeffrey The Dude!
An out of breath Jeffrey The Dude thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
