Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Nichols (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Cote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Nichols! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cote lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Nichols lands a slapping body shot.
Cote drops his hands momentarily and Nichols takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Nichols closes the distance and clinches up with Cote, looking for a takedown. Nichols pushes Cote against the cage but Cote circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cote closes the distance and lands a one-two. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cote throws a front kick that sends Nichols stumbling back into the cage. Cote clinches up with Nichols and pushes him back against the cage. Cote has hold of one of Nichols's legs. Nichols is fighting the takedown attempt but Cote gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cote gets to his feet - Nichols follows without any prompting. Nichols looks gassed! Nichols misses with a double jab
and Cote counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Cote fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nichols, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Cote pulls Nichols into guard.
Cote could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Cote is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nichols is aware though and is defending well. Cote pulls Nichols in close to his closed guard and prevents Nichols from doing any damage or advancing position. Cote is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Cote decides to stand and escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nichols loads up on a big right hand but Cote slips the punch. Cote with a poor takedown and Cote takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cote lands a high kick!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thud! ouch! good body kick from Cote - that will leave a mark!
Good leg kick by Cote there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Cote moves in looking to clinch but Nichols pushes him off. Cote instigates a clinch. Cote pulls guard effortlessly. Cote looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nichols is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cote had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nichols defends it easily. Nichols looking to pass the guard. Nichols trying to control the position from guard on top but Cote is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nichols is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cote has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Nichols has passed into side control.
Cote is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cote tries to bench press Nichols off him but Nichols keeps the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Cote dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cote tries to move into range but Nichols moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Cote tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nichols swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nichols tries to clinch but Cote moves out of range. Nichols misses with a low kick. Cote misses with a wild combination.
Cote tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nichols paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nichols tries a head kick but it misses.
Nichols throws a leg kick and Cote counters with a head kick. Charlie Cote is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nichols closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Cote keeps control of Nichols as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote lands a knee to the body.
Cote manages to pull guard.
Cote throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Cote controls Nichols momentarily but Nichols frees himself. Nichols trying to control but Cote is working from the bottom. Nichols stopping the sweep attempt from Cote. Nichols must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nichols tries to free his leg and advance position but Cote is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote wants to stand up but Nichols is controlling him. Cote looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Charlie Cote just wasn't active enough. Cote throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Nichols counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cote shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nichols stuffs the takedown. Cote tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nichols fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nichols looks for a takedown but Cote sprawls well. Cote blocks a head kick by Nichols.
Cote doesn't manage to clinch there - Nichols circles away.
Nichols closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cote's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cote is on top in guard.
Cote is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote wants to control from the top but Nichols keeps moving. Nichols wants to stand and escape but Cote is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cote looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Charlie Cote will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Nichols keeps the fight on the outside. Cote with a lazy takedown attempt and Nichols counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The fight stays on the outside here - Nichols looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nichols scores with a shot to the body.
Nichols throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cote counters with a solid body kick. Nichols misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nichols fails with a takedown attempt. Cote tries to close the distance and clinch but Nichols swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cote has closed the distance and engaged Nichols in a clinch.
Cote lands a good knee to the midsection. Nichols won't want to take too many of those. Cote tries to pull guard but Nichols holds him up against the cage and eventually Cote drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlie Cote. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nichols is looking to break free of the clinch but Cote has double underhooks. Cote breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote darts in and clinches Nichols up against the cage. Nichols wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Cote ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cote no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Cote looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Nichols missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Nichols's corner is telling him to maintain position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Cote looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nichols is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rob Nichols was stalling too much, according to the referee. Nichols pushes Cote up against the cage in a clinch. Cote ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cote no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Rob Nichols has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cote is trying to control the position but Nichols postures up. Cote keeping moving, preventing Nichols from controlling successfully. Cote will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nichols advances to half guard. Nichols with the ground and pound but Cote uses the opportunity to regain guard. Nichols lands a couple of digs. Nichols pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cote is keeping the position for now. Nichols loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nichols wants to control from the top but Cote keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cote trying to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rob Nichols. Well Cote has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
