The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolden swats away the attempt to clinch by Fernandez.
Bolden ducks under a wild hook from Fernandez.
Bolden fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fernandez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fernandez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Fernandez misses with a short punch on the inside.
Bolden's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fernandez lands a jab to the nose.
It looks like Robert Bolden has been cut.
Bolden throws a jab but it's blocked by Fernandez.
Bolden fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bolden misses with a straight right.
Bolden gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Fernandez.
Fernandez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bolden.
Fernandez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Robert Bolden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bolden gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Fernandez gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Bolden is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

After the fight, Miguel Fernandez was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
