The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Thomas!
Thomas tries to work over Ivanov's front leg with a kick but Ivanov checks it.
Thomas circles away from the clinch attempt.
Some wild striking there from Thomas.
Thomas tries to clinch up but Ivanov circles away and keeps his distance.
Ivanov shoots in for a double leg but Thomas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Thomas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thomas wants it to stay on the feet.
Thomas throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ivanov dives in and grabs Thomas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thomas pushes down on Ivanov's head and hops out.

Thomas tries to clinch but Ivanov is having none of it.

Ivanov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Thomas pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ivanov back to the cage. Thomas follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Thomas clinches up with Ivanov and pushes him back against the cage.
Thomas tries to break the clinch but Ivanov is controlling the position.
Ivanov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomas walks away with a smile on his face. Ivanov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ivanov misses with a head kick.
Mitchell Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thomas throws a sloppy head kick and Ivanov moves out of range easily.
Ivanov is looking to clinch but Thomas is avoiding it.
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ivanov swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Thomas closes the distance and clinches.
Thomas manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thomas lands with a nice combination. Ivanov backs away looking to recover.
Ivanov is rocked!

Thomas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Thomas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ivanov circles away quickly and effectively.
Ivanov seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Thomas shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Ivanov is backing up but Thomas catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Ivanov covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Thomas Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mitchell Thomas!
