Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Augustus Belmont!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter checks the leg kick.
Hunter shoots in for a double leg but Belmont sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Belmont misses with an uppercut. Hunter saw that one coming.
Hunter throws an overhand right that lands on Belmont's shoulder, as Belmont tries to avoid the shot.
Belmont connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A big left from Hunter misses.
A thudding body kick lands there by Belmont!
Belmont feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hunter's calf.
The fighters circling - Hunter throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hunter takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Belmont connects with a leg kick. Hunter looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Belmont tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hunter is able to avoid easily.

A chopping leg kick lands by Belmont.
Hunter bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hunter scores with a takedown into Belmont's guard.
Belmont lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hunter!

Hunter is wriggling around trying to escape.

Belmont goes for an armbar but Hunter turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hunter.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hunter trying to move into half guard but instead Belmont has managed to sweep!
Hunter is looking to sinch up a triangle. Belmont throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hunter's body to avoid the submission. Hunter has instead reached around Belmont's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hunter arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jay Hunter!
