These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demedici takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Both fighters circling a little - Demedici finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Demedici cracks the inside of Savage's front leg.
Savage throws a right hand that misses
and Demedici counters with a slapping leg kick.
Savage shoots for a double leg takedown but Demedici sprawls well. He's pushed Savage's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Demedici tries a head kick but it misses.
Demedici thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Savage if he has to take too many more of those.
Demedici punishes Savage's body with a nice straight punch.

Demedici paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Demedici turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Demedici.

Demedici throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Savage's head.
Demedici takes a swing at Savage's ribcage but misses.
Demedici connects with a solid leg kick.
Demedici tries to clinch but Savage is having none of it.

Demedici instigates a clinch.
Demedici lands a shot to the body.
Savage prevents a body shot from Demedici.

Demedici breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A telegraphed right hand from Savage misses the target.
Macho Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Savage takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Demedici lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Demedici ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Savage moves away.

Savage is rocked!
Demedici Throws a clean left jab. Demedici Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Savage's chin! Savage crumbles to the ground and Demedici follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Demedici!
