The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Samsa with that takedown attempt.
Samsa lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Scott McDanial has been cut.
McDanial throws a shot from downtown. Samsa moves away and avoids it.
Samsa is looking to clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and McDanial connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McDanial swings widly with a right hand
and Samsa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McDanial thinking.
McDanial jabs Samsa to the body, keeping him at a distance.
McDanial fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Samsa manages to avoid it.
Samsa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McDanial paws at him with a jab and circles away.

McDanial misses with a looping right.
Samsa gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
McDanial ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Samsa moves away.

and Samsa counters with a body kick that stops McDanial in his tracks momentarily.
McDanial is breathing heavily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Samsa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

McDanial stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McDanial wants it to stay on the feet.

Scott McDanial has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregor Samsa.

Scott McDanial seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Samsa tries to clinch but McDanial moves out of range.
McDanial throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sloppy strikes from Samsa. Those never looked like landing.
McDanial misses with an uppercut. Samsa saw that one coming.
Jab, jab by McDanial - just one landing.
McDanial takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Samsa works over McDanial's head and body with a nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Samsa buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Samsa tries to score a power double leg takedown but McDanial sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Samsa somewhat.

McDanial throws a poor cross that misses
and Samsa counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Samsa thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on McDanial if he has to take too many more of those.
Samsa is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Samsa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McDanial swivels and escapes.
Samsa thuds his shin into the meat of McDanial's side.
Samsa thumps McDanial with a low kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Horrible takedown by Samsa or perhaps it was just good defense by McDanial which made him look bad.

and Samsa counters with an inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McDanial is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Samsa.

McDanial throws a series of punches but Samsa avoids them all with ease.

Samsa drops McDanial with a beautiful combination! McDanial stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Samsa is looking for the KO!

Oh McDanial is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Samsa shoots in for a double leg but McDanial sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Samsa wobbles McDanial with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Samsa dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts McDanial to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
