Sharma is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Meditation. Abhidi Sharma has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Badong Vargas's chin.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Vargas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vargas doesn't manage to clinch there - Sharma circles away.
Sharma has managed to clinch.
Vargas goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A frustrated look appears on Vargas's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sharma throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Vargas blocks it with crossed arms.
Sharma lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Vargas or not.
Sharma gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Sharma wants to stand up but Vargas has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Vargas tries to close the distance and clinch but Sharma swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sharma digs a right hand into Vargas's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Vargas's gas tank.
Vargas is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Vargas wants to take the fight to the mat but Sharma manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Vargas is trying to control but can't.
Vargas tries to roll over but Sharma keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sharma clinches up with Vargas and pushes him back against the cage.
Vargas misses with a punch on the inside.
Sharma throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Vargass head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Sharma fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vargas, pushing him back against the cage.

Sharma tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vargas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vargas takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Vargas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sharma sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vargas somewhat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
