Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Unitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dire Strait (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Unitas could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dire Strait's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny Unitas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dire Strait!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unitas missing with a left hand there. Strait was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Unitas with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Unitas has his takedown stuffed
and Strait counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Unitas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Strait.
Unitas shoots and misses

and Strait decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Unitas's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Strait tries to free his leg and advance position but Unitas is retaining full guard.
Unitas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Strait is controlling him.
Unitas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Unitas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Unitas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Strait throwing strikes but missing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Unitas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Strait stays in close to Unitas's body and controls the position.
Strait is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Strait won't allow Unitas to get back to his feet.
Strait engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Strait makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Strait's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Unitas wants to stand up but Strait is controlling him.
Strait throws a big right hand that misses.
Unitas wants to stand and escape but Strait is having none of it.
Strait thows a big elbow that misses.
Strait wants to pass the guard but Unitas is keeping the position.
Strait pushes down on Unitas's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Strait really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Unitas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Strait connects with a nice short shot to Unitas's temple.
Unitas is trying to stand back up but Strait is controlling him

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Strait drops an elbow to the side of Unitas's head.
Unitas is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Strait scores with a couple of nice shots.
Strait lands strikes from half guard.
Strait is pressing down on Unitas's thigh, looking to free his foot. Unitas is holding on for now.
Strait is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Strait thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Unitas's head.
Unitas is trying to stand back up but Strait is controlling him
Unitas scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Strait manages to mount him!
Strait lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Strait takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Strait connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


Unitas is rocked!


It looks like Johnny Unitas has been cut.
Unitas is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Strait trying to control but Unitas is having none of it.
Strait dominating with strikes here.
Oh Unitas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Strait is landing with some decent strikes but Unitas is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
You get the feeling that Unitas really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Strait working the ground and pound effectively.
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Strait! Unitas is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dire Strait!
