Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chuck Pancamo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Horst Schiller! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pancamo checks a leg kick. Schiller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pancamo dives in and grabs Schiller's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schiller pushes down on Pancamo's head and hops out. Chuck Pancamo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pancamo is defended easily by Schiller. Pancamo drives through with a takedown into guard. Pancamo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Schiller manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pancamo has Schiller in his guard. Schiller stopping the sweep attempt from Pancamo. Pancamo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pancamo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pancamo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Schiller is just riding it out for now. Pancamo eventually gives up the hold. Pancamo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Pancamo is working for an americana but Schiller has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Pancamo was thinking about the submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pancamo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Schiller looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Schiller looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Schiller! Pancamo is looking for a sweep. Schiller wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pancamo keeps working. Pancamo gets back to half guard. Pancamo wants to control but Schiller is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pancamo is looking for a sweep. Schiller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pancamo is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Schiller jumps into side control! Pancamo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Schiller wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pancamo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Pancamo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pancamo. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pancamo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pancamo has an active guard here but Schiller has managed to pass into half guard.
Pancamo wants to control but Schiller is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are battling for position here. Pancamo manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Pancamo wants to sweep here but Schiller controlling him for the moment. Pancamo is working hard here to advance position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pancamo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Chuck Pancamo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pancamo catches Schiller with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Pancamo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schiller sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Pancamo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Schiller is fending him off so far but Pancamo persists. Nope, Schiller circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Pancamo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schiller fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pancamo manages to avoid it. Schiller displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pancamo. Pancamo looks for a takedown but Schiller sprawls well. Nice body kick there by Schiller. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pancamo. Horst Schiller is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schiller slaps away a takedown attempt from Pancamo, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Schiller tries to clinch but Pancamo is having none of it. Horrible takedown by Pancamo or perhaps it was just good defense by Schiller which made him look bad. Pancamo shoots in but no luck this time. Schiller throws a half hearted mid kick. Nice sprawl there from Schiller as Pancamo shoots in. Pancamo with a poor takedown and Schiller counters with a good low kick that Pancamo was not able to check. A big left from Pancamo misses. Pancamo fails with the takedown and Schiller counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pancamo moves out of range of the body kick. Schiller leaves Pancamo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Schiller lands a front kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pancamo shoots in and drives through. Schiller sprawls well. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Schiller. Pancamo shrugs it off though. Pancamo takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Schiller with a hook. Schiller scores with a leg kick.
Schiller throws a body kick that misses. Horst Schiller seems to be getting the better of the standup. Schiller loads up on a big right hand but Pancamo slips the punch. Schiller misses with a body kick. Schiller swings for the body but Pancamo moves out of range.
Pancamo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Schiller counters with a lovely straight right hand! Pancamo takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Schiller.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Schiller scores with a slapping inside leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. No joy there for Schiller, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pancamo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Schiller - the referee stops the clock and Pancamo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Schiller. Pancamo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Pancamo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Schiller counters with a leg kick. Schiller misses the jab. Pancamo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Schiller to counter with a crisp jab. Pancamo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Schiller throws a half hearted mid kick. Schiller is looking to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Horst Schiller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Schiller takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Pancamo will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Pancamo keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Schiller tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pancamo is able to avoid easily. Schiller tries to clinch but Pancamo moves away and Pancamo counters with a single leg into guard. Schiller didn't expect that. Pancamo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Schiller is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Schiller has escaped and now he's on top! Schiller won't allow Pancamo to sweep him here. Pancamo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Schiller defends it easily. Pancamo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pancamo can't keep his opponent in guard - Schiller advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pancamo is trying to get back to full guard. Schiller takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Schiller wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pancamo keeps working. Pancamo wants to improve his position but Schiller is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pancamo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Pancamo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schiller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Schiller manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Pancamo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Schiller has passed into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Schiller wants to pass to mount but Pancamo is defending the position. Pancamo tries to get to full guard but Schiller has control of the leg. Pancamo is pressing down on Schiller's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Schiller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pancamo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Schiller wants to control from the top but Pancamo keeps moving. Pancamo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
