The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gudmundsson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Butterfly manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Butterfly is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gudmundsson is controlling him.
Gudmundsson controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gudmundsson advances to half guard.
Butterfly tries to kick Gudmundsson off but Gudmundsson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Gudmundsson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gudmundsson in particular looking to stall.
Butterfly is trying to stand.

Gudmundsson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gudmundsson has an Americana. Butterfly didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gudmundsson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gudmundsson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
