The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loesure tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cota sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Loesure somewhat. Loesure gets caught flat footed, as Cota shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Cota is stalling in the full guard. Loesure trying to control the position.
Loesure can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cota controls the pace. Cota drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Cota seems to have locked his on tight now - Loesure screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Cota, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Matt Cota! An intense looking Matt Cota took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'You should have paid more attention in jiu-jitsu class, Loesure!'.
