Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Roosevelt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Aint no sunshine - DMX. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roosevelt misses with a body shot.

Silva looks to land a combination but Roosevelt avoids it well. Roosevelt waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Silva. Roosevelt throws a right and a left that both miss. Silva works Roosevelt's body with a nice hook. Roosevelt misses with an uppercut
and Silva counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Roosevelt misses the shot to the body. Roosevelt takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses. Silva swings for the body but Roosevelt moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Roosevelt. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet. Roosevelt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Roosevelt is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Silva rather than just go for the knockout. Silva throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Roosevelt sees it coming and avoids it easily. Roosevelt throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Roosevelt does a little dance to reset his feet. Roosevelt swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Silva counters with a big head kick but Roosevelt shrugs it off. Silva dodges the punch combination from Roosevelt.
Silva lands a leg kick that knocks Roosevelt off balance momentarily. Roosevelt misses with a jab to the body
and Silva counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Roosevelt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Silva tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Roosevelt was well out of range. Poor timing from Silva. Roosevelt loads up on a big right hand but Silva slips the punch. Roosevelt misses with a straight right. Roosevelt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Teddy Roosevelt has been cut. Silva lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Silva. Roosevelt looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely. Roosevelt lands with a straight right. Silva didn't see that one coming. Roosevelt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Silva punishes Roosevelt's body with a nice straight punch. Roosevelt misses with a few strikes there.
Silva moves away from the strike by Roosevelt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva lands with a good body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roosevelt lands with a nice combination. Silva backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Anderson Silva has been cut. Roosevelt has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Roosevelt there as he acknowledges the shot. Roosevelt scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Teddy Roosevelt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Roosevelt. Roosevelt throws a jab when Silva was well out of range. Silva displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Roosevelt connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Silva showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Roosevelt.
Roosevelt clobbers Silva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Anderson Silva will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Silva is rocked! Silva walks straight into a right hand from Roosevelt - that's dropped him! Roosevelt jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Silva from any more punishment! Silva complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
