Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Saulnier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine has chosen Megadeth-Kill the King as his entrance music. On his way into the ring it seems that Raymond Saulnier has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Raymond Saulnier seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Remy Valentine!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saulnier swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Valentine keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Saulnier really is a fat lump.
Valentine slips a jab and a cross from Saulnier.
Saulnier pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Saulnier fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Valentine gets a clinch.
Valentine gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Saulnier.
Valentine tries to land knees in the clinch but Saulnier avoids the damage to the body.

and Valentine counters with a left and a right that hurts Saulnier! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Valentine jumps into full mount!


Saulnier is rocked!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Saulnier is looking to get to half guard.
Oh Saulnier is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Saulnier might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Saulnier seems to have got his legs back now.

Valentine tries to stand and escape but Saulnier is controlling the position.
Saulnier moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Valentine wants to control from the top but Saulnier keeps moving.
Valentine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saulnier swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Valentine sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Saulnier's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Valentine seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Saulnier does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Saulnier is looking to escape.
Saulnier is looking for a sweep. Valentine is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Valentine blocks the strikes from Saulnier.
Valentine is taking a breather. Saulnier says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Valentine is trying to control the action in half guard but Saulnier is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Saulnier throws a lazy uppercut
and Valentine counters with a slapping leg kick.

Valentine moves into range and clinches up with Saulnier.
Saulnier throws a punch but it's blocked by Valentine.
Valentine wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Saulnier has him pressed against the ropes.
Saulnier tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Valentine just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Valentine gets underhooks to prevent Saulnier's takedown attempt.
Saulnier goes for a takedown in the clinch but Valentine prevents it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Remy Valentine dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Raymond Saulnier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Valentine does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Saulnier misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Saulnier throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Valentine keeps the fight on the outside.

Saulnier tries to bum rush Valentine with a series of wild strikes but Valentine uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Valentine tries to clinch but Saulnier moves out of range.
Saulnier throws a head kick that misses.
Saulnier misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valentine moves in looking to clinch but Saulnier pushes him off.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

No joy there for Saulnier, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Saulnier shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Valentine's guard.

Saulnier quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Saulnier but it's paid off an Valentine is forced to tap! Nice work by Saulnier.
