Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Draught Papillia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Draught Papillia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David James!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James slips under a jab.
James shoots for a double leg takedown but Papillia sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Papillia sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat.
James is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Papillia jabs at James's body.
James shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Papillia as he jumps to the side.
Draught Papillia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David James.
James fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Papillia attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Nice shot by Papillia.
James takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Papillia stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Papillia wants it to stay on the feet.
Papillia misses with a few strikes there.
Papillia looks to score with a jab to the body but James is just out of range.
James misses with a takedown attempt - Papillia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
James takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Papillia lands with an uppercut that bounces James off the cage and back into range.


James is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Papillia has cracked James with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Papillia lands another huge swinging hook and James tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save James, before Papillia can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Draught Papillia!
After the fight, Draught Papillia was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
