PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Vogt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Strawwhot Luppy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vogt is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Strawwhot Luppy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthony Vogt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Strawwhot Luppy!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vogt stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vogt wants it to stay on the feet.
Vogt looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Luppy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Luppy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vogt tries to avoid it but Luppy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vogt to the ground. Vogt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Luppy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vogt tries to avoid it but Luppy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vogt to the ground. Vogt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Luppy shoots for a takedown but Vogt saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Luppy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vogt's waist but Vogt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Luppy off to one side.
Vogt shoots in looking for a takedown but Luppy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vogt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Vogt has his foot on Luppy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Luppy works his way back into a safe position though.

and Luppy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Vogt enables Luppy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vogt manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Luppy is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Luppy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Horrible takedown by Vogt or perhaps it was just good defense by Luppy which made him look bad.
