Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seymore Butts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Adam Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Seymore Butts!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butts gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Steel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Butts's guard now.
Butts is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Steel controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Adam Steel just wasn't active enough.
Steel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Butts sprawls well. Butts wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steel gets slowly back to his feet.

Steel gets in close and instigates a clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Butts not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Butts rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Steel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Steel scores with a takedown into Butts's guard.
Steel forces his way into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Steel is thwarting Butts's attempts to control the position.

Butts tries to roll over but Steel keeps him under control.
Well, if Steel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Adam Steel.
Butts tries for a takedown but Steel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Steel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Butts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steel is one step ahead there.

Steel stands up and waves to Butts to follow him.

Steel shoots in for a takedown but Butts shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Butts tries to clinch there but Steel circles away.
Butts fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Steel shoots in but Butts avoids the takedown attempt easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Steel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Butts looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Butts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Steel doesn't manage to clinch there - Butts circles away.

Steel shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Steel was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Steel tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Steel blocks Butts's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Butts wants to hold on but Steel pushes him away.
Butts is looking to improve his position but Steel isn't that keen on the idea.
Steel looking to control and managing it successfully.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Adam Steel dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Steel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Butts shoots in but no luck this time.
Steel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Butts closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steel circles away.

Steel is taking a breather. Butts says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Butts is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Steel is aware though and is defending well.

Steel looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

We're going to have a standup here because Adam Steel wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Butts shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steel as he avoids it easily.

Steel manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Butts on his heels. He'll look to pass Butts's guard now, I'm sure.
Butts trying to keep a closed guard but Steel is proving a slippery customer.
Steel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Butts swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Steel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Steel won't allow Butts to get back to his feet.
Adam Steel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Butts shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steel pinned against the cage. Steel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
