PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Horatio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Le or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Le looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.
Le takes a kick to the side of the head.
Le will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Le fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silva manages to avoid it.
Le takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Le throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.

Silva pushes Le up against the cage in a clinch.
Le tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Silva just stands there and leans against the cage.

Le manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Silva would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Silva stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Silva moves into range and clinches up with Le.
Silva lands an elbow inside that Le shrugs off.
Silva lands a nice knee to the body.
Le is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silva is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Le has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Le. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Le regains guard immediately.

Le has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Le wants to get back to full guard.
Silva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Silva controlling the position easily from mount.

Silva gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Silva stalks Le and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Le's face. Le staggers backwards, shaken.

and Silva moves into the clinch.
Le fails to pull guard.
Silva comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Silva landing knees to the head.

Silva tightens his grip and picks Le up, before dumping him to the ground. Le manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva wants to stand but Le has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Le looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Le tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Le bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva's guard.

Le drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Le off! Le jumps back into Silva's guard.

Le is working hard here to advance position.

Le drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Le jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Le advances position into side control!
Silva can't do much from the bottom here.
Le advances to full mount.

Le has hold of Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Silva is wriggling around trying to escape.

Le is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Silva can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Le goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Silva is on top in guard.
Silva looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Le is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Silva rolls with it to try and escape but Le cranks on the arm and Silva is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
