PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Destruction (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Destruction is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sonic Syndicate - Denied. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anderson Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Destruction!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook throws a right hand that Destruction ducks under and follows up with a left that Destruction also avoids with ease.

Destruction gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Destruction digs a right hand underneath Cook's ribcage. Cook let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Destruction manages to break the clinch.
Cook closes the distance and clinches up with Destruction, looking for a takedown. Cook pushes Destruction against the cage but Destruction circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Destruction scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Destruction tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
You can see the frustration on Cook's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Destruction decides to stand back up.

Destruction closes the distance and clinches.
Destruction scores with a hook to the body.
Cook has Destruction pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Destruction manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Cook shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Destruction counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cook won't be happy with that.

Cook tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Destruction wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Cook is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Destruction defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Destruction is refusing to be controlled, as Cook sits in half guard.

Cook seems to be working for a kimura but Destruction defends the submission attempt.
Cook prevents Destruction from improving his position.

Destruction really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cook. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Destruction lands a big shot there that rocks Cook but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Cook tries to reverse the position but Destruction maintains control.
A nice elbow there by Destruction.
Destruction can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cook is looking to escape.
Destruction prevents Cook from getting the reversal.
Cook tries to hold on but Destruction pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cook is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christian Destruction dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cook doesn't succeed with the takedown

Cook is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Destruction is forced to tap! Great finish!
