Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roman Kopacz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Gaines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kopacz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kopacz misses with a double jab
and Gaines counters with an inside leg kick.
Roman Kopacz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gaines takes a swing at Kopacz's ribcage but misses.
Gaines takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kopacz throws a leg kick but Gaines sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kopacz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gaines tries to keep at a distance but Kopacz has taken the fight into the clinch.

Gaines escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gaines goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Kopacz clinches up with Gaines and pushes him back against the cage.
Gaines keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kopacz's efforts to push away.

Kopacz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gaines has time to react.
Kopacz throws a leg kick but Gaines sees it coming and moves out of range.

Kopacz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gaines feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kopacz's calf.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gaines, right into the meat.
A clash of legs there as Kopacz blocks the low kick.

Gaines drives through and clinches with Kopacz against the cage.

Gaines throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
