Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Miguel Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Smoke Robinson! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robinson tries to clinch up. Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gracie looks to land a combination but Robinson avoids it well. Gracie fails with the takedown. Robinson tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Robinson clinches up with Gracie and pushes him back against the cage. Robinson throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Gracie tries to circle away but Robinson has him pinned against the cage. Robinson taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
The crowd are getting on Robinson's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Robinson trying to land knees to the body.
Robinson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gracie has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Robinson putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Gracie in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Gracie has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Gracie wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Robinson has him pressed against the cage. Gracie wants to get back to striking at distance but Robinson won't allow it.

It looks like Miguel Gracie has been cut. Stalling in the clinch from Robinson.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robinson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Robinson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gracie has locked up a guillotine! Gracie's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Robinson is holding on here and Gracie must be using up a lot of energy. Robinson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gracie gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
