Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hatchet Crawford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Ruricovich! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crawford moves into the clinch successfully.
Ruricovich is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Crawford pulls him back up using the underhooks. Crawford drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ruricovich gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ruricovich wants a takedown but no success here.
Crawford has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Ruricovich clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Crawford really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Ruricovich. Crawford lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Ruricovich is covering up but some of the strikes from Crawford are getting through and doing damage.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

That's one minute gone in the round. Crawford is persistently looking for the submission but Ruricovich is defending it well.

Crawford gets his hands free as Ruricovich looks to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ruricovich controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Crawford has good solid back control here. Crawford is working the ground and pound. Can Ruricovich escape?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruricovich breaks Crawford's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Crawford on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Crawford tries to get out of the position. Ruricovich postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Crawford is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ruricovich, into his guard. Ruricovich looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ruricovich looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Crawford wants to control from the top but Ruricovich keeps moving. Crawford is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Crawford gets to his feet. Ruricovich looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! No luck for Crawford with that takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruricovich shoots in for a takedown but Crawford shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Hatchet Crawford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Ruricovich. Ruricovich swats away the attempt to clinch by Crawford. Ruricovich shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Crawford looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ruricovich is fending him off so far but Crawford persists. Nope, Ruricovich circles away and we're back to standing. Crawford shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Crawford takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Crawford dominating with strikes here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruricovich is squirming around, avoiding Crawford's attempts to control the action. Ruricovich is in all sorts of trouble here.
Crawford looking to control and managing it successfully. This has been an exciting period of action! Crawford can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ruricovich is looking to escape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ruricovich is trying to stand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hatchet Crawford dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Ruricovich keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Crawford wants to clinch. Crawford tries for a takedown but Ruricovich sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ruricovich fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Crawford avoids it really well and circles away. Crawford gets a double leg takedown into Ruricovich's guard. Crawford advances to half guard. Crawford landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Crawford with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ruricovich is defending against the submission attempts here by Crawford.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crawford takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Crawford wants to control but Ruricovich is keeping him busy. Ruricovich trying to get back to full guard but Crawford takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Ruricovich wants to control but Crawford is having none of it. Ruricovich's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Crawford controlling the pace for now. Ruricovich tries to buck Crawford off but Crawford takes his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crawford has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Crawford is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Ruricovich is defending well though. Crawford let's go of the attempt for now. Ruricovich is trying to get back to his feet but Crawford has full control of the position and if anything, Ruricovich has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruricovich is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Ruricovich grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Crawford has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Ruricovich. Ruricovich holding both Crawford 's hands and preventing any damage. Crawford has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Ruricovich! Can he survive? No! He's out! Crawford gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
