And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zai Mongo!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaw connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mongo momentarily.

It looks like Zai Mongo has been cut.

Mongo shoots in and gets a takedown into Diaw's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Diaw keeping moving, preventing Mongo from controlling successfully.
Mongo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Mongo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Mongo trying to control but Diaw is working from the bottom.
Diaw is trying to keep Mongo in close.
Mongo looking to sit in guard and control but Diaw gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Diaw stops Mongo from standing up.

Mongo pushes Diaw off and gets back to his feet.
Mongo attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Diaw connects with a crisp jab.
Diaw waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mongo.
Mongo misses the shot to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mongo is defended easily by Diaw.
Mongo takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Diaw misses with a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mongo.
Mongo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Diaw circles away.
Hakeem Diaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zai Mongo.
Good standup being displayed there by Diaw as he connects with a hook.

Diaw lands a jab to Mongo's midsection.
Mongo looks gassed!
Mongo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Diaw as he avoids it easily.
Mongo with a poor takedown
and Diaw counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Diaw drops Mongo with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mongo looks back up at him and smiles so Diaw waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Mongo is rocked!
Mongo walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Diaw! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
