PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominic Taylor told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nelson Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dominic Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reyes is looking to clinch.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Taylor can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Taylor is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Reyes gets his way!

Taylor stalks Reyes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Reyes's face. Reyes staggers backwards, shaken.

Reyes is stalling here. Taylor is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Reyes seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Taylor has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Taylor lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Taylor jumps guard but Reyes stands there with Taylor around his waist. Taylor gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Taylor has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Reyes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Taylor is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Reyes has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Taylor is looking to defend but Reyes has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Taylor! Reyes pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Taylor taps out and this one is all over!
