Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Rogers! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Allen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dave Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rogers drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rogers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Allen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rogers is looking to work some ground and pound but Allen has wrist control. Rogers is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Allen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rogers throwing strikes from guard but Allen blocks nicely. Allen is looking to stand up but Rogers isn't so interested in that idea. Rogers working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rogers postures up in Allen's guard and throws a big left but Allen blocks it. Rogers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rogers working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Allen's head. Rogers working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers connects with a couple of short punches. Rogers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rogers cracks Allen with a solid left hand. Rogers is looking to work some ground and pound but Allen has wrist control. Rogers controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Rogers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rogers lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rogers sitting in guard, not really doing much. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Allen is trying to keep Rogers in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rogers's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Rogers working some strikes from top position. Rogers stands up over Allen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Rogers with a nice head shot there. Rogers lands a couple of digs. Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Allen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Allen controls Rogers momentarily but Rogers frees himself. Allen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rogers on the ground. Rogers is in close to Allen's body, working some short punches and elbows. Rogers lands a couple of elbows. Rogers scoring with punches to the head and body. Rogers throwing strikes but missing. Rogers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rogers wants to control from the top but Allen keeps moving. Rogers sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Anthony Rogers. Rogers closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Allen quickly recovers to half guard. Allen missing with punches from the bottom.
Rogers is nestled in close to Allen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Rogers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Allen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Rogers is keen to just control but Allen is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rogers performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Ground and pound from Rogers. Rogers not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rogers throwing shots but Allen is blocking nicely. Rogers stops Allen from getting back to his feet.
Rogers moves into full mount! Allen won't be happy about that! Allen is breathing heavily. Allen wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Rogers cracks Allen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rogers fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rogers looking to finish Allen with some ground and pound. This is bad for Allen! Rogers is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Allen to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Allen shrugs it off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Rogers dominated that round. That's time! Allen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rogers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Allen did well to prevent Rogers getting side control. Rogers wants to pass the guard but Allen is defending well. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rogers connects with a nice short shot to Allen's temple.
Allen is rocked! Rogers lands with a punch from half guard. Oh Allen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rogers lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Allen quite badly. Allen pulls Rogers in close trying to recover. Rogers postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Allen on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Allen doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony Rogers!
