The key to victory for Atilla Vegh has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vegh but Vegh pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith takes one to the chin there.
Vegh throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.
Vegh swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.
David Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Vegh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Vegh counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.

Vegh stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A punch lands to the side of Smith 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Smith pivots, looking for a leg kick but Vegh is out of range and Smith settles back down.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vegh swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vegh uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.

Vegh is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vegh defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith.

Vegh feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Smiths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Vegh scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though.

Vegh is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Vegh lands with an uppercut that bounces Smith off the cage and back into range.
Vegh scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Vegh stalks Smith and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Smith's face. Smith staggers backwards, shaken.
Smith is rocked!
Smith is trying desperately to land a takedown but Vegh is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Smith.
Vegh works over Smith's head and body with a nice combination.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Vegh finish him?

Vegh is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Smith looks up at the clock. Bad move! Vegh lands a right hand from hell, dropping Smith. Vegh pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
