Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gilbert De Cortes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alphonse Gabriel Capone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gilbert De Cortes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Capone closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Capone lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Capone stopping the sweep attempt from De Cortes.
De Cortes is trying to keep Capone in close.
De Cortes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Capone on the ground.
Capone controls from within his opponent's guard.

Capone lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
De Cortes is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Capone asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Capone tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Capone postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. De Cortes looks a forlorn figure.

De Cortes sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Still in half guard, Capone seems content to control.
Capone winds up and cracks De Cortes with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Capone is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
De Cortes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Capone decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
De Cortes dives in and grabs Capone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Capone pushes down on De Cortes's head and hops out.
Capone shoots for a takedown but De Cortes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

De Cortes tries to clinch but Capone moves out of range.
De Cortes stuffs the takedown attempt from Capone. Capone gets slowly back to his feet.
Gilbert De Cortes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alphonse Gabriel Capone.
Capone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
De Cortes lands a nice shot to the body.
Capone tries to close the distance and clinch but De Cortes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
De Cortes stuffs the takedown.
De Cortes shoots for a takedown but Capone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Capone moves in looking to clinch but De Cortes pushes him off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
De Cortes scores with a push kick.

De Cortes shoots in for a takedown but Capone shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

De Cortes tries to clinch but Capone is having none of it.

Capone has taken the fight to the clinch.

De Cortes decides to pull guard.
De Cortes wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Capone is now in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Capone escapes and gets back to his feet.
De Cortes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Capone has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Capone takes a kick to the side of the head.
Capone scores with a nice right hand.
De Cortes tries to clinch

and Capone counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in De Cortes's guard now.

De Cortes trying to keep a closed guard but Capone is proving a slippery customer.

Capone trying to control the position from guard on top but De Cortes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
De Cortes is trying to control the position but Capone postures up.
De Cortes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Capone is one step ahead there.
Capone slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Alphonse Gabriel Capone has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Capone goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Capone shoots in for a double leg but De Cortes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Capone shoots in but no luck this time.
Capone is breathing heavily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Capone.
De Cortes wants to control but Capone postures up.
De Cortes pushes Capone away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Capone gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Capone is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, De Cortes has escaped the position, nice work there.
De Cortes is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
De Cortes is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Capone is controlling him well.
De Cortes is trying to control Capone's posture but Capone avoids it.
Capone in side control, throwing shots but De Cortes defends.

Capone works to advance to full mount. De Cortes defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Capone manages to capitalize on a mistake by De Cortes to take his back!
De Cortes trying to control the action but Capone just sinks the hooks in.

Capone is cranking De Cortes's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for De Cortes! He's tightened the choke and De Cortes is tapping out!
