Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hines Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Pegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hines Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Pegas!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Parker.
Pegas throws a right and a left that both miss.
Parker circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pegas wants to clinch.
Pegas tries to clinch but Parker moves out of range.

Pegas does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Pegas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Parker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Parker scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Parker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Parker goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Jon Pegas has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Parker throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pegass head.
Pegas with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Parker has Pegas pushed against the cage.

Pegas lands a right hand that snaps the head of Parker backwards.

Pegas creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Parker's defenses.
Pegas lands an elbow that stopped Parker in his tracks for a moment.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Pegas counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Parker is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Parker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Parker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pegas but Pegas pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Parker is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Pegas will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Parker up against the cage.

Parker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pegas takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pegas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Pegas is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Parker is defending well for now.

A close second round but Jon Pegas will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Parker misses with a body shot.
Pegas wants to clinch but Parker slips to the side
and Parker counters with a one-two to the body.
Pegas tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Parker counters with a series of strikes. Pegas will be more careful next time no doubt.
