Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnson Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Shurk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Briggs comes to the cage accompanied by Can't Be Touched. Shurk has chosen Achy Breaky Heart as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Shawn Shurk was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnson Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Shurk! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briggs misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shurk throws a right and a left that Briggs avoids nicely. Shurk ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Shurk misses with a shot to the body and Briggs counters with a head kick. That will keep Shurk thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! The fight stays on the outside here - Shurk looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sloppy strikes from Briggs. Those never looked like landing. Briggs on the wrong end of a nice jab. Shurk misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shurk scores with a shot to the body.
Briggs connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shurk's hands. Briggs misses with a double jab.
Briggs slips a straight right by Shurk. Shurk fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shurk clinches. Shurk is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Shurk lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Briggs backwards. A head punch on the inside from Shurk fails to land. Shurk swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Shurk misses with a punch on the inside.
Shurk gets through Briggs's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Shurk throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Shurk pressing his opponent against the cage. Shurk is pressed up against the cage. Briggs has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shurk down to the mat. Shurk avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Briggs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shurk throws a right hand that misses
and Briggs counters with a series of strikes. Shurk will be more careful next time no doubt. Briggs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shurk manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Shawn Shurk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shurk missing with a left hand there. Briggs was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Shurk throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Briggs misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shurk looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shurk moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Briggs is rocked!
It looks like Johnson Briggs has been cut. Shurk moves out of range as Briggs throws a body kick.
Oh Briggs is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Briggs walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Shurk! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
