Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Corbett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Knowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knowles has chosen Chris Knowles as his entrance music. Christian Knowles struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Christian Knowles enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan Corbett!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Christian Knowles!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corbett rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Knowles moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Corbett tries for a takedown but Knowles sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Corbett misses with the body kick
and Knowles counters with a solid body kick.
Knowles on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Corbett darts in and clinches Knowles up against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Corbett - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Corbett lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Christian Knowles has been cut.
Knowles letting Corbett take a breather here.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Corbett.
Corbett lands a good knee to the midsection. Knowles won't want to take too many of those.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Knowles has Corbett pressed against the cage, preventing Corbett from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Corbett looks for a takedown but Knowles sprawls well.
Knowles is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Knowles swings for the body but Corbett moves out of range.
Corbett throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Corbett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Knowles circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Corbett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Corbett looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Corbett scores with a nice right hand.
Corbett does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Corbett fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Corbett closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Knowles dodges the punch combination from Corbett.
Knowles takes one to the side of the head.

Corbett pushes Knowles up against the cage in a clinch.
Corbett is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Knowles is defending well for now.

Corbett's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Corbett swats away the attempt to clinch by Knowles.
Corbett throws a series of punches but Knowles avoids them all with ease.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knowles avoids a punch combination nicely.

Corbett takes the fight into the clinch.

Corbett ducks under a wild hook from Knowles.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Corbett misses with a looping left.

Corbett fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Knowles, pushing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knowles lands with a right to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Corbett using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Knowles has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Knowles connects with a nasty looking knee right to Corbett's face.

Knowles is looking to take a break and control but Corbett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Corbett is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Knowles's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Knowles's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corbett has got one arm under Knowles's chin. This could be trouble... Knowles trying to control the other hand but Corbett gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Knowles has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nathan Corbett!
