Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Diego Elvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jao Lai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Elvis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Elvis Presley - In The Ghetto. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Diego Elvis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jao Lai! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elvis blocks a head kick by Lai.
A combination from Lai does no damage. Elvis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lai, pushing him back against the cage. Lai digs a right hand into Elvis's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Elvis's gas tank. Elvis misses with a hook from the clinch. Elvis misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Elvis has a couple of punches blocked by Lai.
Lai connects with a nasty looking knee right to Elvis's face.
Elvis tries to work over Lai's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Lai is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Lai is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Elvis is defending well for now. Elvis lands with a short head shot on the inside. It looks like Diego Elvis has been cut. Elvis managing to block the knees to the body from Lai.

Elvis is trying to maintain a safe position but Lai gets an underhook and turns Elvis into the cage. Lai is working Elvis over against the cage. Elvis turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Elvis working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Elvis is chipping away with strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lai is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Elvis off and has taken his back! Elvis covering up well under a series of strikes from Lai. Elvis tries to escape but Lai has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Elvis looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. A lull in the action here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Elvis covering up well under a barage of strikes. Elvis defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Lai's arms. Lai tightening his grip on Elvis, looking for the choke. Elvis trying to control the position but Lai manages to sink in the hooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lai is looking for the choke from the back position but Elvis is controlling his hands well. Elvis rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Lai is looking to take a break and control but Elvis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Elvis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lai is working for a kimura but Elvis is defending it quite comfortably.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lai is stalling here. Elvis is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lai seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Elvis has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jao Lai dominated that round. The cut man is working on Diego Elvis's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lai tries to clinch up. Elvis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lai can pounce on him.

Elvis scores with a shot to the side of Lai's head. Jao Lai seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. With the fighters up against the cage, Lai throws an elbow but misses. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lai with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Elvis as Lai tries to tie him up. Elvis is stalling here.

Jao Lai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Diego Elvis's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Lai rushes Elvis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nice elbow from Lai. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Elvis. Elvis swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A frustrated look appears on Elvis's face as he tries to break the clinch. Lai using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Elvis has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Elvis takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Lai is fighting off a takedown attempt but Elvis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lai to the mat. Lai regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Elvis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lai works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Elvis trying to control the position from guard on top but Lai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Elvis throws a strike but Lai rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lai lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elvis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lai looking to pass the guard. Lai controls from within his opponent's guard. Lai preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Elvis is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Elvis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Diego Elvis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Elvis swats away the attempt to clinch by Lai. Elvis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lai moves away. Elvis tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Lai throws a sloppy head kick and Elvis moves out of range easily. Elvis circles away from the clinch attempt.

Jao Lai is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! Jao Lai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lai has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
