Halberstram has chosen Murder The Government as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Halberstram shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mellark is trying to defend but Halberstram finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Halberstram is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mellark defends well.

Mellark got a little sloppy there for a moment and Halberstram has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mellark has managed to get both his arms back between Halberstram's legs - danger averted.

Halberstram escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mellark gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mellark seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
