The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mac takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Dhillon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mac's waist but Mac gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dhillon off to one side.

Dhillon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Mac is looking to control Dhillon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mac avoid being mounted?
Daljit Dhillon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dhillon is taking a breather. Mac says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
