Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Keast Durden! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Emil Hammer! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hammer misses with a two punch combination.
Hammer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Durden moves into range and clinches up with Hammer. Hammer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Durden prevents it.
Hammer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Durden walks away with a smile on his face. Hammer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Durden fails with the takedown. Durden thumps Hammer with a low kick. A jab from Durden finds it's way through Hammer's defenses. Durden moves into the clinch successfully.
Durden lands a right hand. Hammer is looking to take this one to the mat. Keast Durden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emil Hammer. Hammer is trying to drag Durden to the mat but Durden just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Durden breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammer throws a one two combo.
A punch combination from Hammer misses. Durden avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hammer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hammer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Durden counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Hammer out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Durden is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Keast Durden! Keast Durden retains his featherweight title! Keast Durden decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
