Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maloy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Penns swivels and escapes.
Maloy throws a right hand that Penns ducks under and follows up with a left that Penns also avoids with ease.
Maloy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Maloy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Maloy misses with a series of wild punches.

Maloy misses with a takedown attempt - Penns sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Penns wants to clinch up but Maloy keeps it at a distance.

Penns tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maloy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Maloy counters with a three punch combo that has Penns backing up. Penns nods at Maloy to acknowledge the strikes.
Maloy throws an overhand right that lands on Penns's shoulder, as Penns tries to avoid the shot.
Some bone on bone action there as Penns checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Penns walks into a stiff left hand from Maloy.
Maloy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Penns sprawls well initially but Maloy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Maloy wants to free his trapped foot but Penns is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Maloy could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Maloy is looking to take a break and control but Penns is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Penns trying to hold on to Maloy's head to control him but Maloy postures up.

Maloy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Penns is refusing to be controlled, as Maloy sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Penns has Maloy up against the cage in a clinch.
Penns throws a punch but it's blocked by Maloy.

Maloy has picked Penns up - he's going for a ride! Maloy dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Maloy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Penns is staying active underneath Maloy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Maloy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Maloy passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Penns!

Penns is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Maloy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Penns tries to avoid it but Maloy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Penns to the ground. Penns escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Maloy has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Penns has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's time! Maloy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Penns closes the distance but Maloy moves to the side
and Maloy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Penns misses with a punch to the body.
Maloy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Maloy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Maloy looking for a guillotine here but Penns defends easily.
Maloy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Penns gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Penns stays in close to Maloy's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Penns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maloy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maloy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Penns has escaped the position, nice work there.
Maloy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Penns is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Penns is looking to reverse the position.
Maloy avoids the strikes from the bottom by Penns.
Penns is not content to let Maloy control the position.
Maloy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maloy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

and Maloy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Maloy trying to control but Penns is working from the bottom.
Maloy tries to free his leg and advance position but Penns is retaining full guard.
Maloy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Penns's guard.
Maloy uses his free foot to push down on Penns's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Penns.

Maloy fails to advance to Penns's back.
