Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Tawhai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hawiian King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawiian King will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Christopher Tawhai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hawiian King! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from King as Tawhai shoots in. Tawhai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side. Tawhai has managed to clinch.
King blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Tawhai breaks from the clinch.
Tawhai closes the distance and clinches up with King, looking for a takedown. Tawhai pushes King against the cage but King circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christopher Tawhai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tawhai shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense. King blocks a head kick by Tawhai.
King blocks the body kick.
Tawhai closes the distance and pushes King back into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tawhai has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. King is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Tawhai is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Tawhai pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tawhai misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Christopher Tawhai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tawhai is breathing heavily. Tawhai fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tawhai is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Tawhai circles away and we're back to standing. King looks to clinch and Tawhai counters by clinching up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King wants to get back to striking at distance but Tawhai won't allow it.
Tawhai decides to pull guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Tawhai manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
King sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. King looking for submissions from an awkward position here. King regains full guard. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! King has his foot on Tawhai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tawhai works his way back into a safe position though. King looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. King working for a triangle but Tawhai defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King keeping moving, preventing Tawhai from controlling successfully. King tries to land a sweep but no joy. King is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
King wants to stand up but Tawhai is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Tawhai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground. King throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Tawhai slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from King. King is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tawhai's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tawhai's back! Tawhai trying to control the hands but King breaks the grip. King is looking for the choke from the back position but Tawhai is controlling his hands well. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tawhai is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it. King lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Hawiian King dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Oooooh!!! King has knocked Tawhai down with a huge combo! King steps away and waves a wobbly Tawhai back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Christopher Tawhai has been cut. King shoots in but no luck this time. Tawhai misses with a two punch combination.
Tawhai closes the distance and clinches. Tawhai tries to pull guard but King holds him up against the cage and eventually Tawhai drops back down to his feet.
Tawhai is looking for a takedown up against the cage. King gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tawhai stalling.
King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tawhai has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tawhai using the Thai plumb to throw knees but King has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Tawhai effectively controlling the action here. Tawhai manages to break the clinch.
King leaves Tawhai with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christopher Tawhai. That's going to take a lot out of him. King shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Tawhai shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tawhai looks for a takedown but King sprawls well. King throws a nice looking combination but Tawhai bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tawhai misses with a head kick.
King looks to land a combination. Tawhai sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. King fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. King moves out of range of the body kick from Tawhai.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tawhai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. King shoots in but Tawhai avoids the takedown attempt easily. King closes the distance but Tawhai moves to the side and Tawhai counters with a lovely shot to the body. Christopher Tawhai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. King shoots in for a takedown but Tawhai shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Tawhai which made him look bad. Tawhai closes the distance and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tawhai jumps guard.
King working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. King has gone for a leg lock! Tawhai slips out almost immediately though and dives into King's guard. King keeping moving, preventing Tawhai from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. King is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hawiian King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Christopher Tawhai's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Tawhai shoots in but no luck this time. Tawhai moves into range and clinches up with King. Tawhai lands a nice elbow. Tawhai manages to pull guard.
King passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. King thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tawhai tries to get to full guard but King has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tawhai trying to control from the bottom.
King thows a huge punch but Tawhai dodges it nicely.
Tawhai is trying to control but King manages to pass to mount!
King misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Tawhai can't escape the position.
Tawhai is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. King throws a sloppy strike and Tawhai uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Tawhai has ended up in King's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. King trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King has his feet on Tawhai's thighs here. He's pushed Tawhai off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Tawhai screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
