Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lin Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Surprise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Greg Surprise!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Surprise throws a series of punches but Li avoids them all with ease.
Li shoots in looking for a takedown but Surprise manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Li's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Li is trying hard to land a takedown here. Surprise sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Surprise would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Surprise wants to get up but he can't break Li's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Lin Li just wasn't active enough.
Surprise just misses with a punch to the body.
Surprise slaps away a takedown attempt from Li, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Surprise displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Li.
A nice combination there by Surprise.

Li shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Li was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Li has hold of Surprise's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Surprise manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Surprise is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Li drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Li remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Surprise looks to move to half guard but instead Li has passed into mount! Damn!

Li has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Li seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Surprise for as long as he can get away with.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Li is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Li shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Surprise takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Li shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Surprise is trying to defend but Li finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Li takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
