PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robertson comes to the cage accompanied by Of Wolf And Man-Metallica. Sanders has chosen Con te Partiro as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Robertson blocks a head kick by Sanders.
Sanders wants to clinch.

Robertson is trying to get back to full guard.
Robertson is staying active underneath Sanders, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

and Sanders decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Robertson's guard.

Sanders stands and throws Robertson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sanders has control of Robertson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Robertson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Sanders is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Sanders is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Robertson is just riding it out for now. Sanders eventually gives up the hold.

Sanders is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Robertson has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close second round but I would say that Scott Robertson will probably get the nod.

Sanders manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Robertson manages to get himself to full guard.

Robertson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Sanders pushes Robertson up against the cage in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sanders takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Sanders tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Robertson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Sanders has gone for a leg lock! Robertson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sanders's guard.
Sanders looking to hit a scissor sweep but Robertson is one step ahead there.

Sanders had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Robertson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sanders Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Robertson's back instead.
Sanders is looking to control Robertson but Robertson is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Sanders might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Robertson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chris Sanders comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sanders has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
