Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jasser Tiihonen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Quinton Evans! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Tiihonen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Evans. Evans obviously looking to wear him down.
Evans leaves Tiihonen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Tiihonen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tiihonen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Tiihonen swings around for an armbar but Evans sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Tiihonen's guard. Tiihonen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Evans has picked Tiihonen up and slammed him! Tiihonen can't keep hold of the triangle and Evans manages to pass to side control! The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Evans lands some shots froms side control. You can see the frustration on Tiihonen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Tiihonen is looking for a sweep. Tiihonen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tiihonen tries to get to full guard but Evans has control of the leg. Tiihonen looking for submissions off his back. Tiihonen is looking to improve his position.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Evans is thwarting Tiihonen's attempts to control the position. Evans is looking to take a break and control but Tiihonen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tiihonen looking for submissions off his back. Evans lands strikes from half guard. Tiihonen manages to get to full guard.
Tiihonen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Evans can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Evans wants to control from the top but Tiihonen keeps moving. Evans thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Tiihonen keeping full guard, as Evans tries to pass. Tiihonen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tiihonen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Evans defends it easily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tiihonen is looking for a triangle but Evans pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tiihonen looking for submissions off his back. Tiihonen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Evans is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Tiihonen trying to hold on to Evans's head to control him but Evans postures up.
Evans seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tiihonen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Tiihonen is defending against the submission attempts here by Evans.
Tiihonen actively working from the bottom here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tiihonen looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Evans pushes past his half guard into mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jasser Tiihonen will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nice takedown defense from Evans. No joy for Tiihonen on that attempt. Evans tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tiihonen was well out of range. Poor timing from Evans. Tiihonen with a poor takedown and Evans counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tiihonen's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Evans lands a couple of decent looking shots. Evans slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Tiihonen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Evans wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Evans has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Tiihonen! Tiihonen tries to lock up and control but Evans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. BOOM! Evans connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Evans lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Tiihonen is rocked! Evans with the ground and pound from mount. Oh Tiihonen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Tiihonen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Evans content just to control the position here. Evans scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Evans cracks Tiihonen with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
