PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iso Sielu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sielu has chosen POMPPUFIILIS!! as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Iso Sielu was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Iso Sielu!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sielu shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Sielu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sielu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sielu gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Johnson counters with a straight right hand.
Andy Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iso Sielu.
Nice defenses there by Sielu.
Sielu fails with a takedown attempt.

and Johnson counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Sielu gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sielu is striking but Johnson is not phased and passes to half guard.
Johnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Johnson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sielu!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sielu flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Sielu tries to reverse the position but Johnson maintains control.
Sielu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Johnson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sielu can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sielu is working to get back to half guard.
Johnson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Sielu swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Sielu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like Iso Sielu has been cut.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sielu is rocked!
Johnson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sielu can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Sielu is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him?

That has opened up Iso Sielu's cut even more.

Johnson postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Sielu bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Johnson and the fight is over!
