Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Price! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rashad Granderson! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Granderson misses with the combination.
Granderson tries to bum rush Price with a series of wild strikes but Price uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Price drives through and clinches with Granderson against the cage.
Price drags the fight down to the ground.
Price kicks Granderson off and gets to his feet. Granderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Price. Granderson shoots in for a takedown but Price shows good takedown defense. Rashad Granderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Price closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Price jumps guard.
Granderson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Price had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Granderson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Price Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Granderson's back instead. Price misses with an elbow to the head. Price doesn't have the hooks in and Granderson manages to turn into his guard.
Granderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Price is looking for a triangle but Granderson pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price looking for a guillotine here but Granderson defends easily.
Price keeping moving, preventing Granderson from controlling successfully. Price tries to land a sweep but no joy. Price working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Granderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Granderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Granderson wants to pass the guard but Price is keeping the position. Granderson passes easily into side control. Nice work. Price is breathing heavily. Granderson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Granderson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Price pinned against the cage. Price gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Granderson throws a right hand that Price ducks under and follows up with a left that Price also avoids with ease. The fight stays on the outside here - Price looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A punch combination from Granderson misses. Granderson swinging wilding here.

Granderson closes the distance and clinches up with Price, looking for a takedown. Granderson pushes Price against the cage but Price circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ryan Price has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rashad Granderson. Granderson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Price is fending him off so far but Granderson persists. Nope, Price circles away and we're back to standing. Granderson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Price is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Granderson pulls his head out easily. Granderson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Granderson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Price defends it well. Price slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Price trying to strike off his back.
Price manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Granderson manages to get himself to full guard.
Price working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Price passes Granderson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Price is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Granderson has managed to free his arm - good work. Price uses his free foot to push down on Granderson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Granderson. Granderson avoids a series of strikes thrown by Price.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Price working for a guillotine from mount but Granderson is in no mood to give up. Price swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Granderson is now in Price's guard. A big mistake from Price there, giving up the dominant position! Price working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Granderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Granderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Price has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Price looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Price is on top in guard.
Price won't allow Granderson to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Price pushes Granderson up against the cage in a clinch. Price jumps guard and drags Granderson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Price had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Granderson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Price Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Granderson's back instead. Price is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Price is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Granderson won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Price off his unconscious opponent!
