Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grant Moore!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore shoots for a double leg takedown but Cooper sprawls well. He's pushed Moore's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cooper moves into the clinch.
Moore is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Cooper is keeping busy.
Cooper goes for a takedown attempt but Moore pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Cooper stuffs the takedown.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cooper.
Cooper working the head and body with strikes.
Cooper staying calm.
Cooper working away.

You can see the frustration on Moore's face as Cooper controls the position.
Cooper creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Moore sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cooper wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Moore, who protects the arm well.

Cooper stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Moore tries to clinch but Cooper moves out of range.
Cooper shoots for a takedown but Moore saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cooper closes the distance and clinches up with Moore, looking for a takedown. Cooper pushes Moore against the cage but Moore circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Cooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cooper shoots in and gets a takedown into Moore's guard.
Cooper is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cooper would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Cooper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Moore avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Moore trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Moore holds on and takes a little breather.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Moore is on top in guard.
Moore is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Cooper has his foot on Moore's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Moore works his way back into a safe position though.
Moore is looking to stand up but Cooper won't let him.
Moore wants to control from the top but Cooper keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cooper looking for a sweep. Not yet Cooper, not yet.
Cooper on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cooper tries to get out of the position.
Moore working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cooper keeping moving, preventing Moore from controlling successfully.
Moore wants to stand and escape but instead Cooper has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Cooper gets to his feet - Moore follows without any prompting.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Moore.

Moore has Cooper up against the cage in a clinch.

Moore is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cooper is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Moore to the mat. Moore regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Moore is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Moore wants to sweep here but Cooper controlling him for the moment.

Moore working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cooper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cooper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Moore tries to sprawl but Cooper drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Moore is trying to maintain the position but Cooper is very close to passing his half guard.

Cooper seems to be working for a kimura but Moore defends the submission attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cooper fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Daniel Cooper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Moore shoots in for a takedown but Cooper shows good takedown defense.
Moore shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cooper sprawls well. Cooper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Moore gets slowly back to his feet.
Cooper shoots in for a double leg but Moore sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Moore changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cooper tries to avoid it but Moore manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cooper to the ground. Cooper escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Daniel Cooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grant Moore.
Moore throws a nice looking combination but Cooper bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cooper shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Cooper takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cooper is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Moore can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Cooper goes for an armbar but Moore turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Moore.
Cooper wants to stand and escape but Moore is having none of it.

Moore missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Moore controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cooper looking to control.
Moore has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cooper is proving hard to escape from.
Cooper is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Moore shoots in looking for a takedown. Cooper tries to sprawl out of it but Moore keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cooper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Moore dives in and scores a takedown into Cooper's guard.
Moore sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Moore tries to free his leg and advance position but Cooper is retaining full guard.
Cooper has Moore pulled in close to control his posture.

Cooper is looking for a triangle but Moore pushes his legs off easily.
Cooper is controlling Moore's posture.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cooper moves in looking to clinch but Moore pushes him off.
Moore pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Moore gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Cooper wants a takedown.
Moore is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Cooper misses with a body punch.
Cooper is trying to drag Moore to the mat but Moore just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Moore tries a knee to the head but Cooper blocks it.
Moore jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cooper walks away with a smile on his face. Moore gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Cooper shoots in but Moore avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Moore shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cooper as he jumps to the side.

Moore closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Moore frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moore raining down hammerfists from mount.
Moore tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Moore looking to control but Cooper is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Cooper is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Moore scoring with strikes but Cooper is staying in there.
Cooper is trying to escape the mount.

Moore working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Moore with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Cooper is looking to improve his position but Moore isn't that keen on the idea.

Cooper tries to lock up and control but Moore gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Moore working for a submission but Cooper is keeping him at bay.
Cooper has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Moore is looking to control Cooper but Cooper is wriggling around and keeping busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grant Moore has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Daniel Cooper is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cooper wants to control his opponent's hands but Moore gets his hands free.

And that's the end of the fight!
Grant Moore comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cooper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
