Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bip Bop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fred Collins! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bop closes the distance and lands a one-two. Collins staying out of range there. Collins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bop moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bop connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Bop misses with a hook. Bop goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bop closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Collins is rocked! A jab from Collins misses. Collins is still on wobbly legs! Can Bop finish him? A slow jab from Bop misses its intended target. Collins seems to have recovered his senses. Bop lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Collins at a distance.
Bop pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Collins throws a right hand that Bop ducks under and follows up with a left that Bop also avoids with ease. Bop throws a nice looking combination but Collins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Collins closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Collins throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Bop darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Bop feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Collins sprawling to the canvas! Collins rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bop finish him?!
Collins scores with a jab to the head.
Bop is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Collins. Bop avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bop connects with a stiff jab that staggers Collins - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bip Bop! In his post fight interview, Bip Bop started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
